My style of pottery falls somewhere between European and Asian with wide-ranging influences fom Japanese, Korean and Chinese ancient ceramics to Scandinavian and mid-century design, Bauhaus and even kawaii culture. The ceramics, mostly utilitarian in nature are also decorative and seek to sing in the spaces they occupy.

Lost and Found books uses recycled & ecologically sourced materials; stitched together and covered by hand.

All pieces are lovingly handmade in a small artisan studio in Rome, Italy. The books & ceramics can be found through the Etsy store.

About Jenni

I was born in the Philippines, grew up in Australia, lived in London & now currently residing in Rome, Italy. My background began in the media, graduating in 2003 with a Bachelor of Media from Macquarie University, Sydney. I worked in television for almost 10 years in Australia and the United Kingdom before deciding to pursue my interest in crafts and become a maker. I have been making ceramics and books in Rome since 2012.

Taking inspiration from my varied background, interests & travels, my work is greatly informed by both Eastern & Western aesthetics and how the ideals born of the Arts and Crafts movement can still persist today.

It started out as a happenstance meeting with clay & ceramics in Rome; Jenni Oh Crafts was born out of a desire to provide an alternative to mass-produced functional wares encompassing two diverse craft-forms in pottery and bookbinding. With a keen interest in sustaining a handicraft aesthetic within a modern context, the aim is to bring focus back to the enriching nature of handmade items.

Foremost, the priciple behind my work is modern smplicity grounded in a belief that even our everyday objects should enhance the spaces they inhabit.
